How to Convert WebP to JPG on Mac
Method 1: Preview (Built-in)
macOS Preview handles WebP files natively. Open the WebP file in Preview (the default image viewer), then go to File → Export. Change the Format dropdown to JPEG, adjust the quality slider, and save. Done. For batch conversion: select multiple WebP files in Finder, right-click → Open With → Preview. In Preview, select all (Edit → Select All), then File → Export Selected Images, choose JPEG format.
Method 2: Quick Actions in Finder
On macOS Monterey and later: right-click any image in Finder → Quick Actions → Convert Image. Select JPG as the format and choose a size. This works with WebP and many other formats. It's the fastest option for converting one or a few files. You can even select multiple files and convert them all at once.
Method 3: Online
For a quick conversion without fiddling with Preview settings, upload the WebP to CocoConvert in Safari and download as JPG. This is useful when you want to quickly grab and convert a WebP image from a website — save it, convert it, and use the JPG.
